Is there a difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent? Although both may be legally able to sell real estate there are several differences. REALTORS® choose to be a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Many also belong to a Local and State Associations. REALTORS® agree to be held to the NAR Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice to increase their profession. While being members of these organizations REALTORS® have the opportunities to further their education, be more involved in their communities, and participate in advocacy efforts to fight for homeownership.
